A Short South West Tour

Day 1,

Collected the vehicle and drove to Lydford C & CC site. A lovely clean site with a basic shop ( though we visited out of season) Facilites excellent clean and all working. Staff very friendly and helpfull. We were advised not to use a sat nav if in a large caravan / motorhome.

Day 2

Drove to Padstow Touring park. A good park with great facilities and easy to find. Well laid out site with helpful staff. Well stocked site shop and overall all facilities werre excellent.  A lovely footpath to padstow from the campsite we were provided with a map. Great views however be prepared for the walk back as the last 1/2 mile is very steep like attacking the North face of the Eiger. There is also a bus service the 555 which leaves Padstow at 30 mins past the hour every hour which will return you to the road outside the campsite.

Padstow is a pretty harbour town with plenty of parking with no height restrictions, but get in early rather than later as it very busy. We avoided all the Stein premises as felt they were overpriced and the same quality of food is available in the town from local stores.

Day 3

2nd Night at Padstow Touring Park.

Day 4

Spent the night at Harford Bridge Holiday Park. An excellent Site and easy to find. Staff were very helpful and we were given an excellent pitch. We also had the attention of the resident ducks which proved very entertaining.  The site has the River Tavy as its boundary to the South very picturesque.  On the whole a well recommended site with a games room, table tennis table and table football.  Also a good library & info room.

Day 5

Another excellent night at Harford bridge.

Day 6

Moorview Touring Park.  A small site well set out to maximise the space. The staff were very helpfull. Caution needed in approaching as the acess road is only 7′ 6” wide.

Last Night

Woodland Springs Touring Park. A refreshingly simple site easy to find with lots of facilitites. Sheltered location surrounded by trees. A small shop with a good selection of wine and beer.  Staff very helpfull a lovely site to end our holiday.

Overall a fantastic motorhome which was very well equipped , we had a really great time and hope to do it again next year.
